While the iSight built into your new Macbook (or any laptop-integrated webcam for that matter) might meet your day-to-day needs, Logitech is hoping that their new QuickCam Ultra Vision can significantly raise the production value on your next YouTube masterpiece. For $129, you get a mostly glass lens — there are still a few plastic elements in there, just less than usual — that’ll open all the way up to f/1.6, making acceptable results possible even in darkness that would turn normal cams into digital noise-filled nightmares. Casio today announced the ultra-slim Exilim EX-S600D an upgrade to the only recently released EX-600. This is a 6-megapixel shooter that’s just 16.1mm thick. It has a 3x optical zoom, a 2.2-inch viewscreen and digital anti-shake. The main upgrade is the new support for the Divx codec allowing filming of 640×480 DivX movies at 30 frames per second. Expect this to drop accross Europe in the next couple of months.

So you want a portable music player. How about a portable video player to? Hey what the hell how about a camera and video recorder to? And since we asked why not throw in a digital card reader and the ability to encode footage directly from your tv or dvd payer. And if you wanted all this in one device for under $1,000 you would expect MR T to emerge hidden from some nearby trees to brand you a ‘crazy fool’ for your foolish desires. But wait MR T drag your mohawk and medallions back to the overgrowth as Mustek has just dropped the DV536 which can do all this and costs. . . wait for it – $200. No MR T there is no need to pitty us as we are not fools – we speak the truth. Too good to be true, you say? Well, yes and no; you really do get all of those functions in this new super gadget, but the list of caveats is rather long: the 2.4-inch screen isn’t the best for watching flicks, that 10 megapixel resolution is really achieved through interpolation from a 5 megapixel CMOS sensor, and the 10x zoom we mentioned is of the digital variety, as no optical zoom is included. Plus, there’s no way to schedule recordings and you’re only getting 32MB of internal memory, meaning that you’ll need a pretty big SD card if you want to store all those movies, photos, video clips, and songs you’ll be loading this up with. Still, $200 isn’t too bad for all the features you’re getting here, even if none of them hold a candle to dedicated devices performing the same tasks.

This is the OmniVision OV6920 CMOS the world’s first 1/18-inch camera sensor, making it the world’s smallest camera. The camera is designed to work as part of a pill which can be swallowed and flow through your digestive system, or for firing from a rather large syringe. All very clever stuff indeed but would I want a camera injected into me – no sir thank you!

This is Casio’s update to their popular EX-Z60 – which itself was a superb little camera. The only real difference is the increase to 7.2 megapixels from the Z60’s six. They have also managed to cut a few millimeters off it’s depth to make it sit in your pocket just that little bit better. Sporting the same 2.5-inch LCD, 3x optical zoom, and digital image stabilization features as it’s predacessor and coming in around the $425 mark this looks like a great buy for the ‘casual’ user. Casio just gave a bump to the top-end of their Exilim Zoom line-up by introducing the 10.1 megapixel EX-Z1000. The Z1000 features the same anti-shake DSP and meager 3x zoom we saw in Casio’s 8.1 megapixel Z850, but doubles the pixels count on the LCD to 230k. They also double the ISO sensitivity to a massive ISO 3200. All of this and the device still remains only 22.4mm thick. Casio kindly haven’t released any information on when or how much it will cost to get one of these in your hands though.

Announced today the V610 is the World’s smallest 10x optical zoom camera. Boasting sleek looks almost identical to it’s predecessor the Kodac Easyshare V570 the V610 is one of the best looking digi cams on the market, and it isn’t all style no substance.  The V610 like the V570 uses a dual lense system, both are Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon all-glass lenses, each with 6 megapixel sensors. The wider angle lens has a 38-114 mm range and the other a 130-380mm range; combined they make the V610 capable of 10x optical zoom in a body that is only 0.9 inches thick.

This is iQRIO’s CamP3.If you look at it closely,it has exactly the same casing, buttons (photo, video), LED and power plug layout as the Sony DSC-M1 (probably the same OEM).It also offers the same functions as the M1,but adds MP3 and PMP functions to Sony’s device.It can shoot VGA videos at 30fps and it can manage SD cards up to 2GB. A very interesting product without Sony’s limitations.
