Nokia’s aeon “full surface screen” mobile concept

Posted in Mobile by K Saleh on the October 9th, 2006

aeon-concept-3.jpg

Currently mobile technology isn’t quite up to realizing this fantasy, but we’ll sleep better tonight knowing that at least one of the cellphone industry’s biggest names shares the same dream as we do — BenQ’s dream didn’t count, unfortunately.

1) The ringtone “Nokia tune” is actually based on a 19th century guitar work named “Gran Vals” by Spanish musician Francisco Tárrega. The Nokia Tune was originally named “Grande Valse” on Nokia phones but was changed to “Nokia Tune” around 1998 when it became so well known that people referred to it as the “Nokia Tune.”

2) The world’s first commercial GSM call was made in 1991 in Helsinki over a Nokia-supplied network, by Prime Minister of Finland Harri Holkeri, using a Nokia phone.

3) Nokia is currently the world’s largest digital camera manufacturer, as the sales of its camera-equipped mobile phones have exceeded those of any conventional camera manufacturer. (more…)

Samsung X830, a realistic iPod Phone?

Posted in Mobile by K Saleh on the August 25th, 2006

It seems that Samsung has taken it upon themselves to design their vision of the iPod phone. It’s a pitty that it looks so darn thick, but that’s not the case. At only 74 grams, its body size is 85 x 29 x 20 mm. Because of the long and narrow body, the display screen is 128 x 220 pixels. Other than music player, the phone also comes with bluetooth, USB 2.0, 64 polyphonic. It’ll be available in white and black, sport a 264k color screen, touch scroll wheel, and a 1.3mp cam. Some websites claimed that it will have 82mb internal memory, however O2 of the UK are advertising it to have 1GB of internal memory. It’ll be available November 2006.
