Here is a great idea that allows 8 bikes to be stored in area of just two square meters. Not only this but it allows users to lock both the bike frame and front tyre to the stand to reduce theft. The stand also looks pretty cool to. So what are all you lazy people waiting for – no more excusses – get on your bike!

It’s odd to see this, especially since Mitsubishi’s popularity in Japan is quite low at the moment (think of exploding engines for no apparant reason). However this is indeed a family car that I’d be proud of owning.
Get in, stick the nano in and off you go, driving and humming. A thousand songs in a thousand miles. (Yes Mistubishi you may quote us on that). The price? $15,000. Is it worth it? Well you obviously aren’t going to buy a car because it has an iPod Nano dock, but I’d say it’s a welcome feature!

Panasonic Unveils GPS Systems

Not wanting to be outdone by Pioneer Panasonic today unveiled it’s own range of in-car GPS systems – the Strada class F. Now yesterday we were pretty confident we had just seen THE setup to have in your car (see the new pioneer in-car-entertainment systems article) but in typical style for the electronics world it appears that Pioneer may only have help that crown for a day. The Panasonic boasts an impressive list of features: measuring 152×91x177mm, they offer 2 digital TV tuners, an SD slot, a CD drive, an iPOD connector, DVD player, audio is optimized for 5.1ch/4ch/2ch, connection to a rearview camera (night vision possible) and a 40GB HDD all shown on a 7” screen – we want one, and we want one now!

Pioneer presented the next incarnation of their high-end AVIC systems the AVIC-VH009. This is THE setup to have if you want every conceivable form of entertainment packed into your vehicle. It will be available in 5 versions including the high-end 2500 EUR version, the AVIC-VH009MD. It boasts a 7″ screen, 5.1 amp, TV, Video DVD, CD, MD, HDD, 3D GPS and WMA/MP3/DivX/DTS/Dolby compatibility. From the pictures released the graphical interface of the GPS looks ver impressive indeed.

Mobile use in aircraft by 2007

Air France has laid the first stone in allowing the use of mobile phones onboard aircraft. Air France is to allow passengers to use their mobile phones once airborne on certain flights, though only for text messaging and data applications, the airline announced last week – voice calls will not be allowed for the time being.

The service is set to launch in March 2007, three months after Air France takes possession of a new Airbus A318 aircraft. It is widely regarded that full use of mobile phones will become common place onboard planes in the next few years with the aircraft manufacturers creating and/or backing various onboard cellular systems.
